The City of Moses Lake is reminding the community about the water conservation months and the regulations that are in place in compliance with the city ordinance.
July and August are mandatory water conservation months since the Moses Lake City Council amended Moses Lake Municipal Code (MLMC) 13.07 (water regulations), with ordinance 2904 two years ago wherein the amendment added conservation to this subsection of the MLMC.
Properties with even numbers will be allowed to irrigate and wash vehicles on even-numbered calendar days and odd-numbered addresses are scheduled to do so during odd-numbered days.
Additionally, those with irrigation meters that are two inches and larger will be restricted to water from 12:00 midnight to 8:00 a.m. or on a schedule approved by the Municipal Services Director.
Penalties are also determined in the ordinance for those who will not comply with the city's effort.
The City of Moses Lake recommends some approaches to conserve water such as turning off the hose when not in use while cleaning the vehicle and repairing dripping faucets.
