Othello School District issued the following announcement on Aug. 28.
There are a number of free WiFi options available in the Othello area. Our district schools all have free WiFi available in their parking lots, as does the Othello Library (101 East Main St.).
We will also be parking WiFi equipped school buses at the following locations each school day:
Washington Square/Gemstone Apartments Area
Golden Plains/Radar
Othello Housing Authority on North 3rd
Lions Park Apartments Area/Sportsman
3rd between Juniper & Spruce
Eagle Apartments
Little Mexico North
Little Mexico South
Othello Manor
Up to 40 students can connect to a bus WiFi hotspot at one time. They must be within 40 yards (120 feet, or 36 meters) of the bus to receive a signal, and objects like walls, cars, and other obstructions may limit the effective distance of the WiFi signal.
Othello School District may be able to assist families who do not have any access internet at home, or who only have very low bandwidth options. Please contact your child’s school for information about what options may be available. We cannot guarantee that a hotspot will be available for all families.
