The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced that the church is building the Moses Lake Washington Temple, Rexburg Standard Journal reported.
The groundbreaking of the Moses Lake Washington Temple will be in October, officials say. Elder David L. Stapleton, who is an Area Seventy, will host the event.
Due to local social distancing rules, only those who are invited can attend the groundbreaking. However, those who are interested can find photos and videos of the event through the media.
The site for the Moses Lake Washington Temple is a 17-acre piece of land that is located on Yonezawa Boulevard.
The temple will be a single-story building. The total area of the temple will be approximately 20,000 square feet. The top of the temple will feature a center spire, Rexburg Standard Journal reported.
President Russell M. Nelson originally broke the news of the temple during the April 2019 general conference. The temple will be one of 4 temples in the State of Washington. The other temples are located in Richland, Seattle and Spokane.
