Moses Lake’s new managed homeless camp is on track to open mid-November.
To be managed by HopeSource Moses Lake, the camp will include 35 small unheated housing units, outdoor warming areas, showers, bathrooms and an administrative office, according to the city’s housing and grants coordinator Taylor Burton as reported by the Wenatchee World.
People will stay on a per-night basis and will receive hygiene packs and packaged meals donated by the Community Services of Moses Lake food bank. Mental health and substance abused help will be available to homeless individuals through Grant Integrated Services. HopeSource Moses Lake will endeavor to get laundry vouchers to all who need them as well.
Homeless individuals will be allowed to check in at 6 p.m. and stay until 8 a.m. After staying, lodgers will be required to clean up after themselves.
Pets will be allowed as long as they are well-behaved and not diseased. No drugs or alcohol will be permitted on site.
