Larson Heights Elementary School issued the following announcement on Nov. 20.

Due to an increase in COVID cases and an increase in absences within our school, the Grant County Health District has advised the closure of Larson Heights Elementary. Larson Heights will transition to distance learning effective Monday November 23, 2020. At this time, school is scheduled to resume Monday, November 30, 2020.

  • Free meals will be available for pickup at Larson Heights Elementary School, from 11am–12pm: www.mlsd161.org/apps/pages/freemeals
  • Student remote schedules and continuous updates will be available and sent out from their teachers. Please check your communication channels regularly.
  • Stay Healthy! We want to keep our students and staff safe and healthy so that we can remain in school. To avoid future closures, and to protect yourself and others, we must work together as a community to follow the basic guidelines to prevent COVID-19, including maintaining a physical distance of 6 feet away from people from outside your own household, wearing a mask in public, washing hands regularly, and not hosting or attending large gatherings.
The safety and well-being of students and employees is our top priority. We continue to monitor the evolving health crisis caused by the Coronavirus. Thank you for your understanding and partnership with us as we take the necessary steps to protect our school community. Again, the situation is being closely monitored and we will keep you apprised of any changes.
