City of Moses Lake recently issued the following announcement on March 3.
The City filed a complaint with Twitter on Wednesday to remove an account falsely claiming to be the official City Twitter account.
The City asked Twitter to take down the account immediately because it inaccurately states it is the official City Twitter and for improper use of the trademarked City logo.
The City’s complaint is currently under review and was told by Twitter they would take action if it is violating Twitter rules.
“The account is fake and illegally using the City’s name and logo,” City Manager Allison Williams said. “We hope Twitter takes swift and appropriate action to take this page down.”
