The drum circle is about playing grooves, learning world percussion rhythms, and creating harmony. Everyone is invited to play, which includes non-musicians/beginners to expert drummers. If you have your own drum (djembe, conga, etc.), be sure to bring it with you. If not, there will be a limited number of hand drums available; so, you can still come out and jam. Dr. John Owens (Big Bend Community College Music Faculty) will lead the drum circle and teach rhythms from West Africa, South America, Caribbean, and other regions of the world. Come join the thundering sound of the drums, feel the powerful rhythms, or just swing by to listen to some grooves. Registration is required, available on our website or at the Museum front counter.
