Boeing officials recently announced a $25,000 gift to Big Bend Community College’s Aviation Maintenance Technology (AMT) and Commercial Pilot programs. The funds will be used by both programs to purchase equipment and support industry-required testing for students, among other initiatives.
Boeing was founded in Washington more than a century ago. Today, Washington is home to Boeing Commercial Airplanes and is where the majority of Boeing employees live and work.
The aerospace company has had a presence in Moses Lake specifically, conducting flight training and testing for many years.
“Boeing is proud to be part of the Moses Lake Community,” said Boeing Global Engagement manager Gina Breukelman. “Big Bend Community College has a long history of preparing students for in-demand jobs in the aviation industry. We’re delighted to help support BBCC’s Aviation Maintenance Technology and Commercial Pilot programs.”
Boeing has supported the college’s aviation programs through donations in the past, including a $50,000 gift last fall.
“Big Bend Community College is very grateful for Boeing’s continued support of the Aviation Maintenance and Commercial Pilot programs. Our aviation programs use these donations to support items such as industry-required testing for students, faculty and staff professional development, and equipment purchases,” said BBCC Dean of Workforce Education Daneen Berry-Guerin. “Thank you to Boeing for supporting Big Bend students in the journey toward their new aviation careers.”
