One Health Day!

Communication, coordination, and collaboration among partners working in animal, human, and environmental health as well as other relevant areas are an essential part of the One Health approach.

One Health Day is also the perfect opportunity to spotlight our Environmental Public Health (EPH) team!

Our EPH department maintains the expectations Grant County residents have for the water we drink, the food we eat and many other factors significant in our daily lives.

The Environmental Public Health Team at GCHD manages programs such as:

  • On-site sewage disposal (septic)Land use (subdivisions & other special projects)
  • Water recreation (public pools, water slides, hot tubs)New and remodeled
  • K-12 school facility reviews
  • Food Safety
  • Drinking Water
  • Solid Waste Facilities
  • Zoonotic Disease (animal to human) surveillance and investigation
-Such as West Nile virus and rabies.

Investigations and surveillance of other illnesses resulting from environmental exposure to germs or chemicals through consumption of contaminated water or food, for example.

Thank you to our EPH team for all that you do!
