North Idaho College men's basketball team proved on Wednesday (February 1) why they are the lone undefeated team in the NWAC, entering the half up eight points on the visiting Big Bend Community College Vikings, only to outscore the Vikings by 19 points in the second half, on their way to a 102-74 final and the win.
The Vikings struggled throughout the game to keep the Cardinal's offense in check, as the host shot 50% from the field and, additionally, knocking down 13 three-pointers. For the Vikings, sophomore Karon Sears finished with 22 points and a team-high nine rebounds, followed by sophomore DJ Frye's 15 points. Sophomore Keenan Miller chipped in eleven. The Cardinals placed five players in double figures, led by Xavier Bailey's 21 points.
The Vikings (4-14 overall, 2-7 NWAC East) will look to rebound on Saturday (February 4), as they host visiting Spokane Community College (16-5 overall, 6-3 NWAC East). In the season's first matchup of both schools, the Sasquatch were able to hang on for an 84-80 win at home.
