On the back of 11 made three-pointers, in addition to a 48% field-goal percentage, the visiting Columbia Basin College Hawks routed the Big Bend Community College Vikings 87-66 on Wednesday (February 15) in NWAC East action.
In a game that never saw the Vikings lead, the Hawks used a balanced offensive effort to take control of the contest early and never relinquish that control. For the Vikings, sophomore Karon Sears led the offense with 22 points, while sophomore Keenan Miller was the lone other Viking to see double-figures, as he finished with ten. In the win for the Hawks, Christian Goss finished with 17 points.
The Vikings (4-18 overall, 2-11 NWAC East) look to make their final mark of the 2022-2023 season on the Big Bend campus, hosting Yakima Valley College (9-13 overall, 6-7 NWAC East) in the final home game for sophomores Sears, Miller, and DJ Frye. In their first meeting of the season (January 14), the homestanding Yaks defeated the Vikings 87-77. Tip is scheduled for 4:00pm, following the women's contest.
